Installing PS3MediaServer on Ubuntu

posted Aug 13, 2013, 8:51 AM by Leigh Williams
You can get all this at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ps3MediaServer I just wanted this on my blog so that all my stuff is in one place

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:happy-neko/ps3mediaserver
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ps3mediaserver

Get latest Java!
sudo apt-get install mencoder ffmpeg mplayer vlc openjdk-6-jre

If you'd like to have PS3MS startup when you log into Ubuntu desktop you can simply add /usr/bin/ps3mediaserver (or PMS.sh if you installed PS3MS from tarball manually) to System --> Preferences --> Startup Applications --> Add

NB!
If you have any further issues also do the following:
sudo apt-get install libmediainfo0
